The South West Group has partnered with Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) to facilitate the involvement of community and corporate volunteers in Council revegetation and rehabilitation activities. This Partnership which began in 2017, sees South West Group member Councils pool resources to engage CVA to supply supervised teams of volunteers to assist Council staff with on ground works, most commonly weeding, site preparation and planting. This provides CVA and the volunteers it recruits with a known program of work in the region each year. In return, CVA preferentially directs resources from its corporately funded programs into the region.
